Be Part of a Community Public Art Project the NEW Capilano Library!

June 3, 1—3pm, at 67 Street and 101 Avenue

The artist team creating artwork for Capilano Library will be hosting a 3D technology workshop to catalog objects from the local community and their stories. These objects will inform and inspire the final artwork that will be installed in the new library.

Bring an object that is important and meaningful to you. Together we will 3D scan them and create a database of digital objects from which the artists will create large-scale physical forms. These community-driven sculptures will be installed in the new Capilano Library when it opens.

We want to represent everyone in the community, so everyone is welcome to participate.

This FREE WORKSHOP will offer participants:

  • An introduction to 3D scanning technologies
  • An overview of available 3D tools and their uses
  • A brief tutorial on one of the most accessible and hands-on 3D scanning programs
  • An open scanning session where people can have their objects digitized
