October is Mature Neighbourhood Overlay (MNO) month!  You can have a say and respond to the City’s proposed amendments to this Overlay which regulates infill developments

Meeting of leagues and the Federation’s MNO Committee, 7 – 9 pm, Wednesday, Oct 19 at the EFCL Office, 7103 – 105 Street.

Please RSVP to info@efcl.org by October 17.

The purpose of the meeting is to thoroughly review proposed changes to MNO consultations and the reduced role of leagues.   Time permitting we will review other regulations, such as the new architectural regulations, plus a few other regulations of high interest to leagues.

This meeting is optional, however, our discussions will help us prepare for the City’s October 27 Workshop for leagues, which will be a critical workshop for leagues to attend.

August 2016 posting.  Ottewell Community League - Priorities for Infill in our Community - Click here to open PDF

Over 80 residents from Ottewell and surrounding communities attended the infill event held on July 14. The hall was crammed full with standing room only at times A special thank you to everyone who attended this event and provided feedback. Three key priorities were identified:
PRIORITY 1: The highest priority item we heard from residents was to have more information available on a timelier basis. Our residents would like for their input to have a reasonable amount of influence on what is ultimately permitted for development.
PRIORITY 2: Our residents would value if Zoning Bylaw stated under what conditions (when) and how the neighbours will be notified of privacy related decisions being made.
PRIORITY 3: Scale and massing of infill should reflect the current on-street scale and massing.
Additional discussion and explanation of these priorities can be viewed by clicking on this link: http://ow.ly/3SPQ303cnjn.
The Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL) has invited the Ottewell Community League to provide the City of Edmonton Executive Council with feedback from our Infill Night. The Executive Council will hear from EFCL and other community leagues on August 30, 2016 regarding community priorities. The EFCL has compiled a list of priorities which closely align with concerns raised by our residents, adding more weight and city-wide concern to our priorities. As a community league, we believe that by presenting at the Executive Council alongside EFCL and other community leagues, our residents’ voices will be heard clearly.
Please give Matt a call at 780-710-2059 or send an email at oclconcerns@gmail.com if you have any additional feedback to provide.
