Community Swims and Skating
Admission is free for Ottewell Community League members during the community swim times at Hardisty and Boonie Doon pools.    Please check the  City of Edmonton website – www.edmonton.ca or phone 311 for the scheduled community swim times.  Cost of multi-pass purchases (10+ visits) are also reduced with an Ottewell Community League membership.  A schedule for Free Public Skating at indoor arenas is available on the City of Edmonton website - www.edmonton.ca.  Click here to see the rink information for outdoor skate times.

Ottewell Exercise Room - UNABLE TO OFFER WITHOUT VOLUNTEER TO HOST!

Ottewell Community  Members (aged 16 and older) can work out at Ottewell Junior High School, Tuesday  and Thursday nights (September – June), from 7:00 - 8:45 pm for a toonie. Ottewell Community League Memberships must be shown for admittance. Waivers are required before use of facility is permitted.

Thursday Nights - Beginner Yoga

Beginner hatha yoga class is the perfect introduction to a gentle, sustainable yoga practice. It will help you develop balance, strength and and a mind body connection without feeling overwhelmed. In this class we will take our time to get into postures, focusing on the basics of hatha yoga. We will take extra time to work through poses to help release the stress that tends to mount over the week. We will combine yoga postures and breathing exercises to strengthen the body and mind, increase flexibility, mobility and to reduce stress and calm the mind. Cooking Classes at Ottewell with Chef Sally

Hello kitchen friends!

OTTEWELL COMMUNITY HALL COOKING CLASSES WINTER 2018

 

Cooking for Two: Sunday March 18 (1 to 4.30 pm) Tired of trying to scale down family-sized recipes? In this class we’ll make four quick and easy dinners – including side dishes – that serve just two. All can be made using only one or two pans – which cuts down on dishwashing. And there will be lots of tips on using up extra ingredients. With recipes such as Oven Roasted Herb Salmon with Pesto Spaghetti Squash, Crunchy Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Apple Celery Salad and Maple Cider Pork Medallions over Root Mash, you’ll soon be calling “Dinner’s Served!”

 WHERE: Ottewell Community Hall, 5920 93A Avenue. COST: $105 per class. SPACES PER CLASS: 8

CANCELLATION POLICY: Please note that, just like most theatres and sporting venues, I do not issue refunds. If you are unable to attend a class you are welcome to send a friend in your place.

Annual Events:

 Free Family Movie Night in the PARK

Held in August ( 2nd annual for summer 2018) Bring your blanket or lawn chair, watch the movie under the stars in the Park. Concession on site to provide the popcorn, some sweet treats that you may be craving.

Membership Fair
Held every September, the Membership Fair allows you to purchase your annual Community League Membership while checking out programs available for you and your family right here in your community!

Senior’s Harvest Tea
Our Senior’s Harvest Tea is held each fall for our pie-loving Ottewell seniors. Members will be treated to Harvest delights and an afternoon enjoying the company of friends and neighbors.

Ladies Ornament Exchange

Held in December for the Ladies to enjoy an evening of socializing getting to know your neighbors, small fee for attending to ensure that all is provided for the ladies to enjoy. All you need to bring is an ornament for the fun game of exchange!
